Seminoles Heading Back to the Chip

CHAMPIONSHIP GAME – HONORING THE 4
On a blustery Sunday evening the Brooklyn Seminoles faced a surging, hard hitting Nassau Golden Eagle team for the second round of the FSFL 2016 Playoffs. During the regular season the Noles had beat the Eagles but this was not the same team and it was a playoff game.

The Eagle’s won the toss and chose to defer to the second half. The Seminole’s return team give the Noles offense good field position using the hard running style of #6 John Morrison the offense move down the field that was capped off with a 6 yard TD run by #12 Jerold Wilson, the point after was good and the score 7-0 Noles. Once again the Noles special team came thru and pinned the Eagle’s offense deep in their own territory while the defense held them to 3 and out. Capitalizing on the field position after the punt, #6 John Morrison took the ball on a 20 yard jaunt into the endzone. The point after was good and the score 14-0 it look like it might be a long night for the Eagles. The Noles defense held the Eagles to another 3 and out and the offense took over. The Noles were driving when penalties and a sack stopped the drive. An attempted field goal was wide and the Eagles took over on the Noles 35 yard line. The Eagles strike was quick as #3 Scotty Metro pass hit #12 Chris Pierre for a 45 yard gain as the first quarter ended. The beginning of the second quarter the Eagles wasted no time and scored, the 2 point conversion was no good and the score was 14-6 Noles. Both defenses dug in and stop the respective offenses several times. The Seminoles change their game play and it paid off as #12 Jerold Wilson pass hit Langley Young for 6. The point after attempt was good and the score was 21-6 Noles.

Defense was the name of the game until the end of the first half as the Seminoles took a 21-6 lead into the locker room.
The 3rd quarter started with the Eagles receiving the ball. This quarter saw the Seminoles loss focus as the penalty flags accumulated. However, the Seminoles when back to the ground game with #6 John Morrison running the ball in for another 6 and the point after was good score 28-6 Seminoles. Early in the 4th quarter, a rare fumble by #12 Jerold Wilson gave the Eagles excellent field position in Seminoles territory. The Eagles seized this opportunity to put another score on the board but the 2 point conversion was no good and the score was 28-12 Seminoles with the Eagles fighting hard to claw back into the game. However two offensive series later #12 Jerold Wilson hit #81 Langley Young for a 60 yard touchdown. On the extra point attempt the snap was low #13 Andre Ray the holder could not get it set, as the kicker rolled right #13 picked up the ball going left looking downfield. Seeing #97 Troy Duncan heading for the end zone Andre hits him with a pass and Troy taking it into the endzone. The 2 point conversion good the score 36-12 late in the 4th quarter, as the Seminoles kicked off to the Eagles.

The Eagles showing their no quit attitude began running the ball with authority. As they were moving the ball inside the Seminoles 35, #26 Keith Pascal hit the runner forcing a fumble and then recovering it. This put an end to the Eagles comeback as time expired in the game.
The Seminoles have held to the promise and now will face an improved, strong NY Rebel team for the 2016 FSFL Championship. This will be a rematch of the 2015 Championship game that the Seminoles won. This will be football at its best where two of the top teams in the nation square off for a Championship. This will take place Sunday 10/30/2016 at 2 PM at Mitchell Field Athletic Complex in Hempstead Long Island. This is what the game is all about please come and enjoy.
